Bježančević outlined her campaign’s central pillars, focusing on key areas such as education, youth initiatives, healthcare, security, and economic development through agriculture and entrepreneurship. These have been identified as critical sectors for improvement, aiming to address the current economic and demographic challenges in the region. She emphasised that Osijek-Baranja struggles with higher unemployment and lower wages compared to the national average. Additionally, the population has decreased significantly over the past decade.
During her speech, Bježančević highlighted the region’s untapped potential, citing its strategic location and abundant natural resources, including fertile lands and water reserves. She stressed the need to transition from outdated policies to innovative solutions that align with the aspirations of the 21st century. Her vision is focused on putting the needs of the citizens at the forefront, moving away from mere administrative formalities.

Supporting her candidacy, Biljana Borzan, an SDP vice-president and Member of the European Parliament, called for change in the county, urging voters to support Bježančević to revive the region’s prospects. Similarly, Mišel Jakšić, another party leader, criticised the current administration’s lack of effort in improving local conditions, attributing responsibility to the HDZ’s long-standing dominance in the area.
While rejecting any notion of an electoral “battle” with her likely opponent, HDZ’s Nataša Tramišak, Bježančević stated her campaign would focus on actionable strategies rather than criticising competitors. She also pointed out that she is currently negotiating potential pre-election coalitions to form a united front against the status quo.
This electoral bid comes at a crucial time for the county, with its socio-economic fabric in need of rejuvenation. By offering a fresh perspective and a comprehensive roadmap for growth, Bježančević aims to reshape the future of Osijek-Baranja through meaningful and achievable reforms.
